Electing Clean Energy Champions in Arizona

Democrats have been on a roll in Arizona in recent statewide elections. President Biden, Senator Mark Kelly, and Governor Katie Hobbs have all won statewide elections as Democrats in the past four years. At the same time, Republicans have maintained a firm grip on the state legislature, as well as at the Arizona Corporation Commission – the elected body that regulates energy policy in the state.

Recent statewide wins have delivered concrete progress for clean energy in Arizona with passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and the bipartisan infrastructure law at the federal level pumping millions of dollars into the state to make the energy transition more affordable and, Governor Hobbs moving quickly to put those dollars to work for Arizonans. Unfortunately, the legislature and the corporation commission are fighting clean energy at every turn.

With anti-clean energy forces holding only a two-seat majority in both the House and Senate, the opportunity to flip those chambers and elect clean energy majorities is now in the 2024 election. Counterspark is focused on making a clean energy majority a reality for Arizona. Join our campaign!
