Pass Clean Energy Permitting Reform in Michigan!
Lawmakers can make it easier to do business, create jobs, and achieve our clean energy goals.
-
Why It Matters
Currently in Michigan, there are dozens of local authorities that have set their own sets rules and requirements regarding the approval of clean energy projects. These varying regulations – known as permitting – make it harder for clean energy businesses to begin and complete projects, slowing industry investments, job growth, and climate progress. Without permitting consistency, Michigan will lose out on economic benefits and it will be near impossible to meet the clean energy goals necessary to protect our state’s natural beauty.

What’s the Solution?
Legislators can make it cheaper and more efficient to do business in Michigan by reforming the current permitting system and creating standard guidelines for clean energy projects.

What Can I Do?
Governor Gretchen Whitmer has already identified permitting reform as a priority for the Michigan legislature this fall, but there’s no guarantee lawmakers will deliver. That’s why we need you to add your voice. Sign on to send a letter to your legislator urging they get permitting reform done immediately!
