Every year, Michigan lawmakers pass an annual budget that serves as a blueprint for outlining and funding the state’s priorities. Investments in Michigan’s EV industry must be a component of the upcoming budget bill. Funding to electrify transportation – including electric school buses, state fleet electrification, and EV charging – means more jobs in auto manufacturing and cleaner communities for Michigan families.
Governor Whitmer has recommended robust funding for transportation electrification in the budget bill, but without strong vocal support from citizens, lawmakers may not consider it a priority. We need Michiganders to flood the statehouse to ensure investments in our EV transition aren’t left on the cutting room floor.
We’ve drafted a letter that Michigan residents can send directly to their representatives advocating for bold investments in electric vehicles and electric vehicle technology. Send a note to your representative today!
