Gov. Holcomb: Say No to Higher Utility Bills for Hoosiers!

Hoosiers need affordable energy from more energy competition – not higher bills from powerful utility monopolies.

  • Why It Matters

HEA1420 is a bill that would allow Indiana’s utility companies to cherry-pick who they want to manage transmission projects in the state. Transmission projects determine how power gets to our homes and businesses. This bill gives utility company monopolies – the very ones behind sky-high energy bills in the first place – the priority, and it makes it harder for competitors to win projects. Without much-needed competition in the energy space, these monopolies will continue to price gouge Hoosiers and limit our energy options.

  • What’s the Solution?

To save Hoosiers money and keep energy costs low, we need to defeat HEA1420. Unfortunately, utility monopolies have been pushing hard for this bill because they want to limit competition and maximize their profits. Governor Holcomb needs to hear from real Hoosiers just as loudly.

  • What Can I Do?

While the bill has already passed, we still have a chance to stop it by urging Governor Holcomb to veto it. We’ve pre-written a letter to send directly to the Governor’s office, but you can add in a personal note if you would like.
