In order to pass the policies we need to effect 100% clean energy, we need champions at every level of elected office. Counterspark has a proven record of delivering electoral victories for clean energy and electrified transportation. Most recently in Virginia’s 2023 General Assembly elections, Counterspark supported six candidates in the state legislative elections, winning five seats and resulting in a pro-clean energy majority in the House of Delegates. Our win delivered immediate results as one of our endorsed candidates passed legislation that will save consumers money while putting more clean energy on the grid through grid-enhancing technologies.

In 2024, we are supporting state legislative candidates in Arizona and Michigan. The races in these states were chosen strategically to maintain a narrow clean energy majority or flip a chamber to a clean energy majority. We’re focused on state legislative seats where a small investment can have a big impact.
