Tell TX legislators: don’t cheat landowners!
New legislation makes building clean harder
-
Why It Matters
Texas leads the country in solar development. But a new bill seeks to curb clean energy – even if you want to build it on your own land. SB 819 adds multiple restrictions to building new clean energy projects, requiring you to obtain a permit from the Public Utility Commission that other energy projects do not need.
A new study found that current clean energy projects will put $29.5 billion in the hands of landowners and spur community development. Making it tougher for Texans isn’t what the legislature should be doing.
This attack is solely on renewable energy, and not any other form.

What’s the Solution?
The state legislature should be working to make it easier to build new clean energy projects, not harder. The energy diversity in Texas has made our energy grid more reliable and less expensive. This is moving backwards.
