  To build new energy projects, developers in Indiana have to cut through lots of red tape. The long process means we wait for new jobs. It could also deter businesses that want to settle in the state, knowing the process to get up and running could take a long time.

  At the same time, more and more electricity is needed every single day, so building new energy is a critical way to keep utility bills in check and keep the grid reliable. Building more energy also creates good-paying jobs which Indiana badly needs.

  A new bill in front of the state legislature (HB1628) seeks to change this. This bill would help cut through the red tape and streamline the process for building new energy infrastructure projects in the state.
