Save California’s Cost-Cutting Energy Program (DSGS)

State legislation fights back against the actions in Washington DC >>

Why It Matters

Electric bills in California are already some of the highest in the nation, and legislation from Washington, DC is only making it worse – recent legislation is projected to increase California energy costs by $200 per year – but we have tools to fight back!

Virtual power plants (VPPs) are one of those key tools to lower electricity costs. They coordinate clean energy technologies like solar panels, home batteries, smart thermostats, and electric vehicles to shift energy use to times when it’s cheaper and cleaner, lowering utility rates for everyone and making the grid more reliable.

With Trump attacking clean energy at the federal level, California needs innovative solutions to keep moving forward in our fight for affordable clean energy.

What's The Solution?

New legislation – AB 740 and AB 44 will:

Require the state to develop a comprehensive plan to fully leverage the affordability and reliability benefits of VPPs

Provide transparency for VPP companies about how they can deliver their benefits to CA customers

Foster an environment of innovation in energy management, lowering energy costs
