Nation-Leading Energy Program Mass Save in Jeopardy

Massachusetts established the Mass Save program to keep our electric grid reliable while reducing costs for all.

Why It Matters

Mass Save helps reduce wasteful grid spending. The program is in imminent danger of being cut by Massachusetts lawmakers (H.5175, Section 69). House Bill 5175 would require that at least $1 billion be cut from the 2025-2027 Mass Save program. This cut would  remove the remaining budget for the rest of the 2025-2027 program cycle, effectively halting the program.

Mass Save is home to one of the most powerful ratepayer protection programs in the nation – ConnectedSolutions. Today, all MA ratepayers save money on their bills because of the ConnectedSolutions program.

Ratepayers saved $50 million in 2025 because of ConnectedSolutions. In 2025-2027, the nation-leading ConnectedSolutions program will cost about $114 million and provide $227 million in direct ratepayer benefits – savings that MA residents will see on their bills every month.

If legislators protect the ConnectedSolutions program, MA residents will save money. Legislators must build on their success and keep Mass Save and ConnectedSolutions.
