Maryland deserves a stronger grid!
Working with neighboring states can help

Why It Matters
Bottom line: Electricity prices will keep going up if we don’t change how we plan. Here’s why:
Highways and electric transmission lines are similar. You wouldn’t build a highway without planning, and you wouldn’t build a two-lane road when you need a highway. Yet that’s exactly what we’re doing with transmission.
Maryland is part of PJM, a regional transmission grid that covers all or parts of 13 states plus DC. Instead of coming together with these other states to plan transmission “highways,” we’re failing to plan and ending up with an inefficient network of two-lane roads.
Regional planning is the way to ensure affordable, reliable electricity for Maryland. We need to work with our neighboring states and with PJM to build a better grid for everyone. -
What’s the Solution?
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued an order (order 1920) giving states a role in planning a more reliable, affordable grid. But states need to come together to make it happen.

What Can I Do?
Email Gov. Moore today and ask him to work with other states in the PJM region to plan a better, cheaper grid!
